چکیده

Influence of the buffer gas on the multiphoton absorption and dissociation in different mixtures was investigated. Simple method based on the empirical and theoretical vibrational energy distribution is applied for high fluence regime. Collisional effects of buffer gas (Ar) are introduced to enhance the absorption and relaxation of irradiated molecules (SF6 and C2H4). Functional dependences of mean number of absorbed photons per molecule (〈n〉total) on the molecular excitation level are presented, enabling us to confirm or predict the level of excitation, number of molecules directly involved in the absorption process and dissociated during the laser pulse.

Energy Balance and Gas Thermalization in a High Power Microwave Discharge in Mixtures

The dynamics of fast gas heating in a high power microwave discharge in air, is investigated in the framework of FDTD simulations of the Maxwell equations coupled with the fluid simulations of the plasma. It is shown that, an ultra-fast gas heating of the order of several 100 Kelvins occurs in less than 100 ns. The main role in the heating is played by the electron impact dissociation of , diss...

Introduction of a Novel Two-Dimensional Equation of State to Predict Gas Equilibrium Adsorption in Highly-Nonideal Systems

Abstract The accurate calculations of adsorption equilibrium for multicomponent gas systems are of great importance in many applications. In this paper, five two-dimensional equations of state 2D-EOS, i.e. Van der Waals, Eyring, Zhou-Ghasem-Robinson, Soave-Redlich-Kwong and Peng-Robinson, were examined to find out their abilities to predict adsorption equilibrium for pure and multi-component ga...

Inactivation of Gram-Negative Bacteria by Low-Pressure RF Remote Plasma Excited in N2-O2 Mixture and SF6 Gases

The role of low-pressure RF plasma in the inactivation of Escherichia coli O157, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Enterobacter sakazakii using N2-O2 and SF6 gases was assessed. 1×109 colony-forming units (CFUs) of each bacterial isolate were placed on three polymer foils. The effects of pressure, power, distance from the source, and exposure time to plasma gases were optimized. The...

Photodissociation Dynamics of Gas-Phase BrICl- and IBr2 Anions

This work is the first study of mixed trihalide anions in the gas phase. We report the photochemistry and photodissociation dynamics of BrICland IBr2 anions near 400 nm. For BrICl-, two major photodissociation channels yielding IBrand IClproducts are observed. The photodissociation of IBr2 yields primarily IBranion products. No BrCland Br2 fragments are formed from BrICland IBr2, respectively, ...

- 2 - Laser Studies of Relaxation Processes in Sf

The infrared spectroscopy of SF6 relevant to laser experiments is discussed. A computed contour of the v3 band is presented which reproduces the prominent Q branch structure. Experiments measuring the saturation of absorption by the v3 transition in SF6 by a CW CO, laser and Q-switched pulse transmission in the same medium are described. The results of these experiments are interpreted with the...
